Generator Transformers for Windfarms (Onshore/Offshore)

Kempston Power provides windfarm (onshore and offshore) transformers using both aluminium and copper foil winding technologies, allowing us to meet a wide range of customer and project specifications. Each transformer is subjected to comprehensive type testing to ensure dependable performance and long-term durability within demanding renewable energy environments.

Key design features include:

  • Optimised for Low Load Factors – Designed to operate efficiently under the variable and lower average load conditions commonly associated with wind turbine applications.

  • High-Efficiency Core Construction – Manufactured using premium low-loss CRGO steel with precision mitred joints to minimise core losses and improve overall efficiency.

  • Advanced Cooling Design – Circular winding arrangements combined with integrated coolant flow ducts ensure even force distribution and help prevent hotspot formation during operation.

  • Built for Harsh Environments – Engineered for reliability in challenging tropical and outdoor conditions, incorporating lightning arrestors and enhanced protective features.

  • Enhanced Operational Stability – Designed to withstand voltage fluctuations of up to -15% low voltage/high current conditions, supporting reliable grid performance and continuity.
